Loveny Toussaint is an interdisciplinary artist working across Graphic Design, painting and writing to contextualize the world around her. The medium she decides to work in depends on the context and the audience she is trying to reach. She usees colors along with dynamic design layouts that reflects the diversity of her environment. Trying to uncomplicated or peel back the layers of the different perspective of the world is not what she’s trying to do. Instead, her work attempt to understand the world as it is, in all its complexities. She ask questions about the world around her and its inhabitants to better understanding what she is making and who she is making if for. Organizing the knowledge she has gained and portraying it through illustrations, paintings, or writing. This usually requires to many drafts of “bad” ideas that will never see the light of day or good ideas that need 100 more hours of polishing to be ready and to be seen by others. When you see the details and how vivid the tendencies of the world can be, it all becomes worth it. As an artist her work will always be as captivating as the lenses she is looking through.
